Tips for Saving Battery on iPhone 4

As the iPhone 4 is approaching its first birthday (and earlier models approach their second, third, etc), it's time to start looking at ways to improve battery life.

After all, is about a year than most of the batteries begin to lose some capacity, ie, the phone just does not work for the same time as before.

The New York Times columnist David Pogue recently got four tips about the battery of a "genius" in an Apple store - some are obvious, others less so. Here is a summary of the tips, some comments and two tips.

1 .- Turn off email notifications. Without doubt, force your phone to check email every 15 minutes spent battery. You can end your productivity, too. Tell your friends and colleagues if they have to communicate urgently send a text.

2. Turn off location services. A lot of applications take advantage of the GPS of the phone when in fact they need. In configuration, location services, disables the applications that use your location. (Yes, we speak of you, Angry Birds!)

3. Turn off notifications. While you are in the mail application, turn off all notifications and unnecessary sounds, alerts, and insignia of the home screen. Applications that use these features consume battery.

4. Close background applications. Apple says background applications are not technically "running" unless they are in the foreground, which means they do not consume power. The Genius of the Apple store said otherwise, and must be manually shut down all background applications. We do not agree, the trouble of constantly monitoring and closing of applications does not mean the battery you can get.

5. Lower the screen brightness. Nothing sucks battery like the screen. If the brightness setting up to start when you down to 50% load. You will not like this at first, but after an hour, not even notice the difference and get a longer battery life.

6. Keep out of your pocket. The hotter the iPhone, the faster you run out of battery. And you know what's in your pocket? The body heat. If possible, save it to your handbag if you're a woman, take the belt.

By the way, if your iPhone is out of warranty, consider replacing the battery completely. That is unamanera sure to keep it running, and it is easier and more affordable than you think. For a 3G iPhone costs $ 6.

Do you have any advice battery life of your own to share?
